So far the new DC sucks.
I tried to copy a message from the old DC to the new and it didn't work very well.

I'll go 8-day draft, no DL, show bids and no trade review.
Any draft date is fine with me as long as you tell me what the date is.
I'll vote for stadium effects. It provides some variety. It's not a need to have though.
I'll go 2 in 5. No back to back isn't a deal breaker but I'm sticking with 2 in 5 until BBM modifies the way it handles TEs.

If at first I don't succeed ...

For what it's worth, here is my take on the team errors.

I don't see why my team should be heavily penalized because my team faces more left handers than the average AL team. Let's say I'm facing a lhsp tomorrow and my second baseman has 5 rh stats and 0 lh stats. I get a TE and my defense is penalized even though I have stats at the position. I get penalized again on offense by getting an 0 for 3. If my second baseman faces a lhsp in real life tomorrow the game may use his live stat off the bench, still factor in the TE and I may have to take another TE the next day.

Here is how I think it should work.
If I don't have any stats at the position (lh or rh) I get the current version of the TE.
If I'm facing a lhsp but all I have at the position is rh stats I can still put the guy in.
If the player plays against a lhsp it uses the stat and there is no penalty.
If the game has to use a right handed stat for the player then there is no penalty to the defense   because the guy plays the position and it doesn't matter if defensive stats were against a lhsp or rhsp. The game does add an 0 for 3 to my teams total offense since the player used the wrong handed stat.

OK, that worked better. It assumed I wanted centered text so I had to click left align before I paste. Seems sort of obvious after the fact.

Tbo, I looked into editing that note. Oh my, you should see the volume of code in HTML. It's unreal. I don't know where to start in finding the part that did the grey background and removing it. So, I'm not going to try. I am going to try my idea of copying/pasting into Notepad and then back to here. Here goes. Well, it looks like that did it. Notepad strips the code down to the bare minimum. So, here's Tbo's note (in a little nicer appearance): The lesson here is that if you want to paste something into this forum from somewhere you might want to first paste it into Notepad (it's found in Accessories in Windows) and then copy/paste it from there to here. I learned the trick while working on my company's website.

Zimm, are you out there? Can you tell us exactly which dates you will be gone in March? That will help the league decide when the draft date can be. We have to start no later than March 31st as that is the last day to have an 8-day draft. Hopefully, you'll be able to do it then or even a little sooner.

Guys, we have to post pictures of ourselves, families, whatever. It's really neat. [smile] Neat? Yeah, I'm older..so what?

I put up one yesterday and a few more today. It'll be fun seeing each other and what we do, where we live...whatever. Sort of make it feel like we know each other a bit. Yes? No? Hello?

Tbo, where'd the five little gold stars come from and what do they mean? Curious minds want to know. [smile]

It seems kind of dumb but they put a rating system at the bottom of the topic. I saw another league with 5 stars so I gave us 5 stars.

ROUNDERS,

You lost me again, but I found you!!
I am with TBo  8 day draft, No DL, Show bids, No trade review
Have stadium effects and 2 LH in 5 games, but it's not a deal breaker.
Otherwise LH every other day...

Guys,

I'm glad there are no deal breakers, but we do need to make some decisions. Most notably, draft date. Zimm, we need to hear from you. LHP usage seems to be split between no two in a row, and two in five. I'm trying to tabulate votes, but they aren't coming in. Those who haven't voted, please do so, either here,or by email.

Owl, can you confirm that March 31 is the last day for an 8-day draft? I don't get the math there if opening day isn't until April 17.

I asked Alain point blank in an email. He wrote back that the date is March 31. Plus, that is the date that has been posted in both January and February BBM Newsletters. I gotta think that's it. When you said you did the math...what do you mean? Does it matter when the first BBM game is relative to the draft date? Wouldn't that just mean we'd have more stats in the pool if we are starting BBM later?

I voted up above here.

With a March 31 draft date, we'd be done 10 days before the BBM opener. While that may be desirable, and allows plenty of time for FA pickups, I'm not sure why it's an absolute necessity. That's what I meant about not getting the math.

Oh I agree with you. It's a long time to sit around. I asked just now and will let you know.

If that's what it is, that's what it is. I'm certainly not complaining. It's more of a curiosity as to why BBM needs 18 days to complete an 8-day draft.
