I wanted to do a poll as to when people feel a trade is acceptable. I have no issue evolving around this, just seen a situation and had a very different view on the matter. So I'm curious what BBMers think.

When making a trade, is it considered a done deal upon agreement of the trade, or upon the actual execution of the trade. In other words, team "A" and team "B" exchange emails and reach an agreement on a trade. team "A" enters it, but while thinking about it, team "B" gets cold feet and declines the trade. Could work either way, team "A" could cancel the trade after entering it.

So, is a trade not official until it's accepted in BBM, or is it a real unsportsmanship move to cancel after reaching a verbal agreement? Would be curious to see the poll results and comments.

Verbal agreement should be honored unless there is an injury affecting the players involved or related team players- before the trade can be executed.

Over the years I've mellowed. I used to hold firm to a "once it's agreed upon it's a done deal" but not any more. In fact, if a team changes their mind even after clicking accept I'll reverse the deal.

That said, I completely understand a manager not liking things if someone backs out. As for me, I try to remember to make it clear to my trading partner that until the accept button is clicked it is not a trade.

I am aligned with Arts thinking on this one. I don't make a trade I wouldn't take back. Disappointed, sure...who doesn't get excited for player changes. But I don't plan on having the guy unless the deal is done.

I do see the other side though and I imagine there are those who play real cut-throat and wouldn't even allow for a trade cancellation even in cases of injury.

But so far it appears the league is split on the philosophies around this.
