In my opinion, the reasons why BBM is the best fantasy baseball game is that it combines all of the following characteristics
1. BBM is a daily game not a weekly game.
2. BBM simulates a game each day in a manner that comes extremely close to how a real game is played and scored. It avoids point per category and that type of non-realistic scoring.
3. BBM requires very close attention by the owner/manager, and that attention is similar to what a real manager does (lineups, roster, etc.) As such, it satisfies the desire to manage a real team.
4. The budget aspect of BBM is truly unique. Each team has a budget and obtains/pays for players according to their auction market set values. This is probably as close to reality as possible.
5. No other game offers all of this.
Of course, improvements are always possible, but this is not the setting for those suggestions according to the instructions for this board.

What I like about BBM is those that play it have class, and don't take a lot of cheap shots like 12 year olds do.

All cheap shots in this forum. If you want to quit, please quit. I'm tired of hearing the crap. Legitimate complaints is one thing. Sabatoge is another.
Grow up.

what I don't like is trying to recruit managers.
you know if you google fantasy baseball we (bbm) show up on page nine I can't understand how we keep playing after 19 years.

I've played all kinds of Fantasy Baseball formats. In my opinion, this is by far the best game available. I understand that the interface isn't pretty and there are periodic hicups with the daily downloads for various reasons. However, that doesn't override the fact that you have a very realistic game that provides a real challenge for those that want to truly compete in fantasy baseball.
There are a couple of leagues out there that have great draft formtats, but once the games start half the managers go robotic because it is 90% settled in the first week. Last year, I played a couple teams in one of those leagues and won league championships by having a good draft and visiting the team once a week for less than a half hour. In one stretch, I didn't visit the team for 3 weeks and still won my head to head matchups. Where is the challenge in that?
In the Pinetar BBM leagues, I know that robo managers are not going to happen. There is zero tolerance policy. On top of that, these guys know baseball. If you want to win these leagues, you have to pay attention and actually manage your team over the course of 162 actual games. I've won in every kind of format - roto, auction, etc. I've not yet won a BBM league. 2nd twice and 1 playoff championship, but I've never won the whole thing. This is by far the most challenging format for true baseball enthusiasts.
I have found nothing else like BBM on the web. Thus, I've given up on all the other formats so I can concentrate on my teams in BBM this year.
Yes - BBM is on page 9 of the fantasy baseball search results. But, just because they haven't focused on advertising doesn't mean that the game is less attractive. In my opinion, other formats pale in comparison.

I just wish that somehow they would fix the relief pitcher "musical chairs" thing. Bid for closers and get points for a save? I don't know, been saying that for years!

It is as close to real baseball as you can find on the internet!! I've been a BBMer for 19 years and I love making trades. Some managers get attached to players and keep them for years (Keeper formats). Some will trade a player just to make a trade. Most owners are somewhere in between.
It's the negotiation that's fun!!! Making offers and counter-offers. Living through the thrill of a successful trade and then seeing the results "on the field". And entering a trade is simple and quick!

It's sacrilege to some, but I wish that BBM would quit using played stats from the previous night. Just throw all the stats into a pool, and pull them out randomly.
This would ELIMINATE 99% of all the hiccups.
It would also be a nice way to GET RID of the dreaded DL.

I love the fact that live stats are used! That and the DL make it more like real baseball! And being like real baseball is a huge attraction.

I think the key BBM attribute is the daily fix every junkie needs.
My opinion is Scoresheet offers the best game...batting orders vs LH and RH pitchers, hitters stats adjusted vs LH and RH pitching based on hitters real life ability to hit LH and RH pitching, ability to bunt, sacrifice, steal, set pitching rotations, decide when to pull SPers, relief pitcher rules, juggle rotation to face specific teams, defensive range counts, real life errors count...gives youuthe ability to truly manage a game.
Go with a private league and set your own rules...salary cap if you want, draft or auction, multiple year contracts, raises, penalties for cutting a player...anything and everything you want. Gives you the ability to be a General Manager.
Down side is it is a weekly simulation that uses the previous weeks real stats. Has it's plusses because you make your decisions before the weeks games, the MLB games get played for the week, then your results are simulated (on a batter to batter basis), so if you sit a player and he hits 4 HRs that week...too bad...you made a bad decision...those HRs are gone...not in a stat pool. But it has that one big minus...how to get that daily fix every junkie needs.
So I do both. BBM gives the daily fix this junkie needs....and Scoresheet gives the best high possible...just what every junkie needs.
